This is the costume I expected Chloe Grace to wear....Sleeping Beauty. This picture is from our Fall Fest at school the week before Halloween.All Chloe Grace could talk about for weeks was wearing her Sleeping Beauty dress. Finally, it was time for the Fall Fest at school where the kids dress up, eat a hot dog, trunk or treat & go on a hay ride. She loved every second of it. On Friday when it was time to get dressed in her costume for trick or treating on Halloween, she says "I no want to wear Sleeping Beauty dress." When Jason was in preschool I found a chicken costume at Old Navy that I just fell in love with. I bought it and got it home, where he quickly informs me that he wants to be Batman. So, the chicken costume has been in the closet since then. I just couldn't part with it, I so loved that thing! So, when Chloe Grace declare Sleeping Beauty was out, I quickly said, "Would you like to be a chicken????" She loved it! She walked around clucking in between "trick or treats". She and the boys had a great night. Madison, unfortunately, was grounded and not allowed to trick or treat. I absolutely hated having to play that card with her, but she needed to see that I meant business about some attitude adjustments she needed to make. And, I'm happy to say she served her punishment well. She didn't complain or pout. She and I actually enjoyed our evening together. When Jarod, Jason and Chloe Grace got home from trick or treating they all shared some of their candy with Madison. And, although daddy planted the idea with the kids before they got back home, they were all glad to share & it was very sweet.
